Ferrets & Friends started because I wanted to make ferret-shaped cookies and after lots of phone calls, I finally found a company to make ferret cookie cutters for me. The only catch was that I had to purchase 100 dozen―that's right, order 1,200 cookie cutters and pay for them before they would even consider making them. That's a lot of cookie cutters, and how would I sell them? I don't even know 1,200 people, let alone that many who had an interest in ferrets. After slight hesitation and questioning of my sanity, I ordered them anyway. I then started making hand-crafted ferret products for people because those types of items were virtually unavailable in the early 1990s. That was the beginning of The Crafty Ferret and eventually this website, Ferrets & Friends.

With 6 rescued ferrets in the household plus a "real" job, I don't spend as much time producing ferret crafts as I would like. All proceeds from the sale of products on the following pages are used to help another homeless ferret.

My devotion to ferrets can be summed up in the following words to my own "furry kids": Each of you has touched my heart in your own special way and made my life a better place to be. My efforts in the ferret crafts business is dedicated to the memory of Demi Sioux, KotiBear, Warlock, Monkey, Barnaby, Alex, Misti Sioux, Becca Sioux, Skyler, Chuckie, Cassie Sioux, Sandie, Cubby, Stevie, Kirby, Tawnee Sioux, Jeremy, Ethan, Angelina, Rory, Tabbi Sioux, Annie Sioux, Pogo, Jakob, Jayme, Sami Sioux, Hershey, Riki, Toby and Danny who all left way too soon.
